I am a stay at home mom of a sweet little girl and her little baby brother! Madison was born in July 2004, and my life hasn't been the same ever since. I love staying home with her and Jonah and watching them change a little more with each day!

Huh?

One of those moments in my time as a parent that just really confused me. I thought the quote was perfect for it.

journaling (circle): You insisted on hugging this coffee can for your nap. As I watched you lying there, I realized that you will always be finding new ways to make me say... huh?
journaling (edges): In spite of the six thousand manuals on child raising in the bookstores, child raising is still a dark continent and no one really knows anything. You just need a lot of love and luck -- and, of course, courage. -Bill Cosby

Slow Down!

I can't believe how fast Madison is growing up! Watching her put her shoes on all by herself just reminded me again that she isn't my baby girl anymore!

Done for the font challenge and ad challenge at DSD.

Mary Mary Quite Contrary March 2007 Free Pea kit by Sande Krieger
font: typewriter old style
journaling: What happened to the baby, that I carried deep inside? She's now become a little girl, so curious and wide eyed. What happened to the tiny one, that relied on me alone? I see you striving everyday, so eager to be grown. Your eyes so blue, that sparkle true, show more wisdom everyday. The little legs that clung to me, are now running away. Slow down my little angel, there's so much more for you to know! Slow down, my sweet sweet baby girl, for you're just a TWO YEAR OLD!
(poem found on 2peas, changed from one year old to two year old)

Almost Spring

I love this kit! We had so much fun playing outside this day... the greens were perfect even if it isn't a St. Patrick's Day layout! This one was done for the sketch challenge and the element challenge at DSD.

journaling: It was such a beautiful, end of winter day, so of course we had to spend it outside! Madison wanted to ride her bike, so we got her all suited up in her Dora helmet and pads (she loves these things!) and then she proceeded to spend all of 2 minutes on the bike. No way was she taking her cool pads and helmet off though! She "climbed" a tree (with Mommy's help), played hide and seek in the trees, and had a blast digging in the little bit of snow that remained in the shaded part of the yard. What a fun day!

Winter or Spring?

This photo is from today... Madison has had so much fun the last few days playing in the 60+ degree temps while there is still a little snow on the ground to dig around in!

Eclectic

This one was done for the definitions challenge at DigiScrapDivas. I was lost at first as to how I would use this word in a layout, but once I thought a little about Madison and her personality I knew it was actually perfect for her!

Cranberry Chaise kit by RoseMadeDesigns at The Daily Scrap
fonts: marydale, 1942 report, century gothic
scraplift of "4 months old" by JenniferB_designerbunny at Elemental Scraps for ES scraplift challenge

journaling: Even at 2 years old, you have very eclectic tastes. You will go to your closet, put on your prettiest dress, and plop down on the floor to play with your cars & dinosaurs, looking completely like a little princess doing it! I love that you can be a girly girl and a tomboy both without caring how a girl is "supposed" to act!

Kiss the Kitty

This one was for the Holiday Challenge at The Daily Scrap... Madison and Jubilee are such an interesting friendship! Madison adores here, but has a tendency to almost torture her in that 2 year old loving way of trying to play. But Jubilee always comes back for more!

Even Angels Fall

Cranberry Chaise kit by RoseMadeDesigns at The Daily Scrap
sketch by Berrygirl for Elemental Scraps sketch challenge
fonts: swingset, pea jessi

journaling: You wanted so badly to be a walker! You practiced for months, grabbing hold of anything that would support you and trying to push it around. Even better was when Mommy or Daddy would hold your hands. You had lots of falls and tears, but the night before your first birthday party, you finally just took off. I still think you must have been saving up the real show for everyone at the party!

Lyric Challenge at TDS:

Even Angels Fall by Jessica Riddle
You found hope, you found faith.
Found how fast she could take it away.
Found true love, but lost your heart.
Now you don't know who you are.

She made it easy, made it free.
Made you hurt till you couldn't see.
Sometimes it stops, sometimes it flows.
But baby, that is how love goes.

You will fly and you will crawl.
God knows even angels fall.
No such thing as you've lost it all.
God knows even angels fall.

It's a secret, that no one tells.
One day it's heaven one day it's hell.
And it's no fairy tale, take it from me.
That's the way it's supposed to be.

You will fly and you will crawl.
God knows even angels fall.
No such thing as you've lost it all.
God knows even angels fall.

You laugh, you cry, no one knows why,
But oh, the thrill of it all.
You're on the ride,
You might as well, open your eyes.

You will fly and you will crawl.
God knows even angels fall.
No such thing as you've lost it all.
God knows even angels fall.
Even angels fall.
Even angels fall.

And... for my bonuses this month, I put together a little paper pack and separated it into 3 parts. No elements this month... but I have some fun things in mind for next month! :)

journaling: When we go to the park, you always seem to be just as, if not more interested in looking for flowers and bugs as you are in playing on the slides and swings. There are so many interesting things to find why would you waste your time on plastic?

Thank Heaven!

This one was for the lyric challenge at DigiScrapDivas. Love the song choice this round!

Shabby Chic kit by AndreaDesigns at The Daily Scrap
notecard by LaWanna Desjardin
fonts: angelina, brushed
journaling:
Thank heaven for little girls
for little girls get bigger every day!
Thank heaven for little girls
they grow up in the most delightful way!
Those little eyes so helpless and appealing
one day will flash and send you crashin' thru the ceilin'
Thank heaven for little girls
thank heaven for them all,
no matter where no matter who
for without them, what would little boys do?
Thank heaven... thank heaven...
Thank heaven for little girls!
